Dear Beloved Family and Friends,

I received a call this afternoon telling me that my visa had been approved and that I would receive it tomorrow.  I can't begin to share with you my excitement!  I'm overwhelmed by it all.  My dreams are coming true.  By the great grace of God, and many, many other souls; my dreams have turned into reality. 

I will soon leave for India to be of service to those less fortunate than myself.  I believe all of my lifetimes have been preparing me for this grand adventure.  I am grateful beyond words to all who have assisted me in getting to this point, and beyond (as I will soon be experiencing things even more wonderous than I could ever have possibly imagined. 

I will write to you from here as often as I can.

Her Personal Letter:

Beloved Family and Friends,

An incredible opportunity has been offered to me, and I would love your assistance in this matter.

As a Healing Arts Practitioner it has always been my heart’s desire to assist those less fortunate than myself in whatever way is appropriate.  However the most important aspect of this has always been to teach people how to be as self-sufficient as possible.  

I have been espousing this quote for many, many years:

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day.

Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

Now I have laid out before me an offer almost too good to be true.  I have been offered the opportunity to travel to India to teach for a non-profit organization, doing the things my heart most desires.   Teaching others how to use the soul to heal; and giving healing blessings to those much less fortunate than I.  You can check out their website at www.SoulHealingIndia.com.  On the left hand side of the page, click on the link entitled: About Patricia.  I’ve worked with her a lot over the last four years, and will be primarily under her auspices.

Many of you know that some of the most basic things we take for granted regarding healthcare in the United States are not available to most people world-wide, including India.  There are almost 1.2 billion people in India, which is more than 1/5 of the entire world’s population.  And while the US has 2,340 doctors per 10,000 people; India has only 143 to cover that same 10,000.  With twenty-five percent (25%) of the population below the poverty line; you and I both know what that means…many people in India go without even the most basic of healthcare. 

My story:  When I was twelve (12) years old, I was in my parents’ bathroom, contemplating life.  I knew that my aunt was not working a “regular” job like the rest of us, and that she was always doing charity fund-raisers for different organizations.   It was in that moment that I decided that I would do that too when I grew up.  Not work in the traditional sense, and raise money to help others less fortunate than myself.

Years passed, and I sometimes forgot about the decision I made back then, although it was never really far from my heart.  When I began doing metaphysical work in 1994 this decision came to the forefront of my life.  How could I assist more people in their healing process?  What could I do?  The above sentences by Lao Tzu sang strong in my soul, and so my extraordinary journey began.

So how can you assist? 

I really need your financial sponsorship.  Once there, my room & board, and travel expenses to various cities will be paid for by this non-profit, including wireless internet access!  They’ll schedule classes for me to teach, etc.  However I must supply a number of things on my own. 

It is my intention to be there for three months; I’ll need a round-trip ticket, a fully functioning laptop (my 10-month old desktop is great, but a wee- bit large for the journey), culturally appropriate clothing (which I’m told is much less expensive to purchase once I get there), and incidentals- toiletries and such.  I’m estimating I’ll need $3,500-4,000; airfare being the bulk of it at around $2,000.

Would you please help me to help others less fortunate than ourselves?  Any amount is gratefully welcomed.
